SSE has an opportunity for a Public Lighting Electrician within our Airtricity Utility Solutions division. SSE Airtricity Utility Solutions is Ireland’s largest street lighting contractor. We are responsible for the maintenance of over 250,000 street lights across the Republic of Ireland for over 900 customers. We provide full in-house design, estimating, consultancy and project management services.

Due to anticipated and continued growth, we are currently looking to recruit an enthusiastic, self-motivated and hardworking Electrician to join our Street Lighting business in Limerick. You will be required to work primarily in Limerick, Kerry and in the greater Munster region and other regions from time to time. Working on a ’24 hrs Standby Roster’ covering an area will be a requirement of this position.
You will carry out electrical installation, maintenance and/or servicing work without immediate supervision in a safe, efficient and economical manner, including setting out jobs from drawings and specifications and establish the requirements of a project and ensure compliance and test systems.
Working on our public lighting contracts, you will be able to demonstrate competency in various types of electrical installations. Successful candidates will possess appropriate electrical qualifications and FETAC FAS grading accreditation. You will thrive in a team environment, whilst also being able to work independently.
You must have the ability to complete risk assessments to ensure work is completed correctly and all applicants are required to hold a full Irish driving licence with class C accreditation and Safe pass and be CSCS trained. Safepass and Mewp ticket also an advantage.
